Trex 250 or MCPX?

As above guys I'm loving my 450 Gootch but it's a bit big for a beginner to enjoy indoors at the village hall, most of the guys there have both 250's and mcpx's but I'm torn between the two, the 250's look much more stable than the mcpx's but the difference in financial damage is a lot,
Would I be better off having the cheaper mcpx and putting the extra money to my "next" heli after that lol

MCPX, just because it's so good, robust and cheap.

I'm with Paul. Mcpx can take a lot of punishment before it breaks. Spares are cheap and easy to find.

I had that same choice a couple of weeks ago. just wanted something i could improve and learn on indoors. Got an mCPx its brilliant

If you want to preserve funds for a bigger heli then the MCPX is the better choice. Its also more crash resistant and you can make use of the indoor space better than the 250. Both can be twitchy but both can be tamed down in your DX6i to suit your requirements.

Looks like the Mcpx has the majority vote

Does the tail hold well on them?
Because I've been spoilt with my 450's align setup and am worried I'll be disappointed

mcpx's are great they really do take a beating before breaking and when the do brake the parts are easy to find and cheap where the 250 parts would probably be more money.

I have both and personally hate the 250.

My MCPX started life normal out of the box - which was fantastic. Then slowly had a few mods ( sr120 tail, brushless, metal head) and is now one awesome bits of kit. It's capable of anything in the book. From mild to wild.

The 250 just gets left at home. Doesn't fly as well. Time consuming and expensive in even the lightest of crashes. The mostly metal MCPX just doesn't break over grass and you get away with most things over concrete with a quick throttle hold finger.

Dont know where the 250 fans are! I can rebuild a 250 in my sleep. A crash normally costs all of £5-6 (feathering shaft, replacement gear wheel and flybar (unless FBL). They don't come any cheaper. Rarely do you need a main shaft. This takes all of 30mins to fix check and get airborne again!

The MCPX is great fun and bounces so I tend fly with considerably less caution which probably makes it better for learning on. Having said that had my first gentle crash with the 250 and it cost me less than £10 to get back in the air, I think the replacement rotors were cheaper than on the mcpx, just considerably more likely to need replacing.
