Hey.

The little Trex500 will be a great size for learning on, big enough to cope with some wind, but small enough to be cheap to repair and run using only 6s 2500/3000mah lipos. You will also not need so much of a powerful charger, however I would advise if you think you may go bigger in time buy the best equipment you can now to save buying again later on.

Also go for a 7 channel or above spektrum set to use the 3GX with two satellite receivers, as it makes for a simpler installation.
