  • Just purchased Blade MCPX, havin a few problems!

Just got my new blade mcpx, when i power up the heli to the point where it is just about to lift off the swash plate will move forward or backwards and off to the side to full servo travel all by itself, this is causing me a few problems during take off with it vering off to the side. As im new to cp helis i wondered if anyone could shed any light on this, it seems a bit strange but could be perfectly normal?
    Cheers Willie

When you spool up the heli don't touch the cyclic. Just pop it up in the air quick as you can to arm the gyro properly. FBL systems don't like cyclic input when the heli is on the ground. Resist the urge to adjust with the cyclic. Just pop it up in the air a few feet then get on the cyclic

are you trying to add cyclic in before it lifts off?

Get it into a clear area, make sure you have NO TRIM set anywhere and then place it on the ground and go full throttle and do not touch the right stick.

If it lifts off fairly true (a heli will never lift off completely vertically) then its something you are doing.

an MCPX wont like any cyclic input if any part of it is still in contact with the ground. This includes trim.

did you configure your transmitter as described in the manual? its best to create a new model and setup the basics ... it pretty much sounds like there might be trim or submix active ... it may drift a bit due to ground effect and rotordirection (usually to the left) but thats it ..

Make sure the transmitter is bound in the right mode ... if you have a computised tx (dx6i for example) you need to do a rudder stick movement after the bind switch to get the heli in the right mode.

The gyro is really sensitive when initializing after battery connection, make sure its flat and level and doesn't move until the heli starts otherwise it can cause weird cyclic drifting - moving it around during those 4 - 5 seconds will cause havoc

Im not touching the cyclic atal and the swash plate moves by itself so unless u power on full straight away it is liable to tip over. When i bound it i only used the trainer switch no rudder stick? The instructions for the dx6i where not that great for binding so watched a youtube video!

You'll be doing a bind as if a v1 mcpx ... v2 is different and involves rudder (its in the book)
Basically, turn off Tx, plug in battery to mcpx, bind light flashes rapidly .... hold trainer switch on Tx and turn on .... hold for 3 or 4 seconds then i release bind switch and do full right rudder input ... after another 3 seconds mcpx will bind correctly

Thanks guys your awesome! Bound the heli using the rudder stick and made sure the heli was on a flat surface when i plugged in the battery, seems to have sorted the problem!!
