Absolutely chuffed to bits

The final piece of my heli turned up this morning (correct 15t pinion)

So i put it on the motor, put the motor in, mounted the esc and reciever and tidied up all the cables

While all this was going on i had one of my 2200mah Gens Ace lipo's balance charging away merrily

When that was charged i mounted it on the heli and took it outside for its first spool-up

At very slow rotation it looked like i had a balancing issue so i backed off and straightened the blades in the grips as they were ever so slightly out

Then wound her up again

No wobbles at all So i got a bit confident and gave it some pitch and she went airborne
The tail held dead straight and with just a touch of cyclic trim she stayed in the air for 5 minutes

I need to calm it down a bit with expo and swash mix as its all set for maximum pitch/response at the moment by my god is it precise and responsive after flying the little sloppy plastic headed Cp Pro 2

Today was the day i realised where all my money went over the past few weeks

You can't put a price on this much fun

It was sooooo cool I had to come on and tell you guys cos my lady couldn't care less

Thankyou to everyone who chipped in with info on the few issues i had and i'm so glad i spent a bit more than required on the electrics as setting it all up was easy and it all works perfectly, I've set the esc to Heli 1 so i'm not using the governor as advised.

5 minutes of hovering on the first cycle of the battery only took it down to 3.75 per cell so theres room for longer flight times isn't there?

There was only one part i replaced with the Align part and that was the tail slider as i wasn't happy the ball was secured into the bottom of it , the rest was spot on

The place i got the kit www.helisfromdevon.co.uk are going to be getting a 600 clone in soon, I'll happily buy one if its the same quality as the 450

Had a little incident on thursday

Managed to panic and bump it down a bit hard and put a slight bend in the main shaft

Ordered Align shafts that night and thery turned up today
Also got some Align flybar paddles and flybar weights as the paddles were quite light and there weren't any flybar weights

Put it all together and its all good again now, and much smoother with more weight on the flybar

Had a little go at idle up and it is definitely more stable running higher head speed

Last night i met up with a few guys from work (plus a few that don't work there) at a village hall that they hire two tuesday evenings a month for a bit of flying,
I had a great time and its much better than flying solo all the time

They were impressed with the Gootch 450 and said for a beginner i had set up really well, which was nice to hear

Only problem is i need to wait two weeks now before the next one

i had another hover with the raptor yesterday ,hopefully joining flyin club in couple of wks so can really give it some lol , great with village hall least you dont have to worry bout weather , also a great feeling when it all comes together and the heli is sat there hovering instead of crashing into floor

I would love to join a club the guys at Ashford are great but it's just too far. Even thinking about starting something myself
