Hiya,
Just thought I would say hello and introduce myself before posting loads of questions.
My wife bought me a Goshawk 4ch contra rotating helicopter for Xmas and I had a good hour or two of fun out of it before the speed controller died. I took it back to the shop it was bought from and they could not repair it or offer a replacement so they offered a refund.
Although I had lots of fun with the Goshawk I was at the point where I wanted something a bit more challenging that I could fly outside so with the refund in hand I set off to my local RC specialist after doing a bit of research online.
I came away with a Twister Storm 3D as it ticked all the boxes for me. I made some training skids and had two reasonably successful flights. I had a few close calls but was just getting the hang of a stable hover.
On the third flight I got a bit to adventurous trying a quick tail spin and lost control hitting the kids swing. I managed to break the flybar seesaw, cracked a blade and broke a flybar link.
I've just rebuilt it using an aluminium flybar seesaw, new blades and a lnk. I tracked the blades and went back to practice the hover. I managed an un-eventful flight but struggled to hold a hover for long.
With the night drawing in I decided to fiddle with the gyro setting as the tail seemed to be drifting a bit. I was setting the gyro in the kitchen as the tiled floor allows the skids to rotate easily for setting up the gyro and unfortunately I clipped a blade in the kitchen cupboard and split the blade
Anyway I've now put the carbon blades on and hopefully I'm a bit luckier tomorrow. It's been a steep learning curve so far!

I seemed to be getting quite a wobble when in the air, its fine on the ground. Would the training gear cause this?
