  • Transfers / Stickers / Decals ?

Guys how do you put on your transfers ?
I was going to simply stick them on but I saw a couple of references to soapy water ??? what the hell's that about ? I want to stick my decals onto my TREX 600 canopy tonight ....

    Cheers.

not sure if it works with all stickers, but you can use a little soapy water on the surface then lay the sticker on and then you can move it about to wherever you want it, then using some form of squeegy, I used an old heli paddle you squish out the water, when it dries the sticker is in place and there are no air bubbles in it.

I done it on a plastic plane ive got and on some windows I put some film on and it works great.

but as I said im not an expert and dont know if it will work for all stickers
    All the best
    Tony.

Thanks....so the soapy water doesn't effect the adhesive on the back of the transfers then ?

I've heard this with Vinyl on cars. I don't know what material the 600N decals are made of, but someone out there has done this for sure.

When I applied my 600 stickers- And any others for that matter I fill a bowl with warm water & a squirt of washing up liquid.
Wash the canopy in the same water, dry it off with a cloth and just dip the decals in the water completely, then apply.
You get quite a bit of time to slide them around or even pull them off and re-apply so don't worry about getting them spot-on first time

When they're where you want them just give each decal a quick blow over with a warm (Not hot) Hairdrier whilst applying light pressure along the decal to get rid of any bubbles or residual soapy water.
Then just leave overnight & they'll be stuck like erm..Glue
          Cheers,

Glass cleaner also works very well, and you get it in a squirty bottle! I used windowlene to apply the stickers to my raptor. You can slide it around until you have it lined up then dab it with a dry cloth.
              I wish my 30 was a 50!

                Stickers

                Guys you are all correct.
About a drop of washing up liquid to 1 litre of water works well in a spray.
This is what I do at work when stickering Formula one Cars ready for racing and testing.
I have been doing this for more than 10 years now.
I currently work for the Renault F1 Team on the testing side of things as a traveling Composites technician working with anything made with Carbon fibre.

If you call being away from home for up to six weeks at a time, away from your wife and young children.Working 20 hours a day when at the race circuits lucky then feel free to contact me and the job is yours.

It is no where near as glamourous as you see on the TV on a sunday afternoon.
Plus it does not leave much free heli time.
