  • Jumping in and giving it a proper go!

    Hi there,

I haven't been on here for years. I started to get into the hobby 12 years ago, and due to a few things. I gave up. Now I have decided that I'm going to get stuck in and make a proper go of the hobby as I have always wanted to fly RC helicopters. Most of my flying is sim based, and now I have lost the lead so I'll have to get a new sim too.....

I want to get into the scale side of things, and videography. So I want a decent machine to start with, without spending a fortune. Then get bigger heli's as I progress. So I have done my research and gone for a Trex 450 pro 3GX with a a JR DSM9 radio.

A LOT more money than I originally wanted to spend, but I really do want to do it properly.

I haven't got the heli yet. I'm waiting for it to come in to my local model shop. I was just after any advice on setting it up and building. I have looked on You Tube and there isn't a whole lot of helpful information on set up on my combination.

If any of you pros out there can give me any tips I'd be very grateful. Thank you

That is a bit of a trek indeed, but I do want to join a club this year. I was going to join Nomads in Dartford as I'm 15 minutes away. Thank you for the invite though, maybe I'll pop down one day and check it out

No, that was from a lake I fish in Horsham. I'll be changing the pic as soon as my heli is here lol
