  • Newbie... Flying without tail towards you...

    Hi Guys,

I am a newbie to this, so far had a lesson then built my Trex600N, had it setup by a pro and now getting to grips with it all..

I have so far managed to get my head around hovering on the spot and then moving the heli to markers on the field, stopping, hovering for a few second and then moving to the next marker, also got to the point where doing this without the training gear on, although this is all with the tail towards me (i.e. heli facing away).

Trouble is, really struggling to get my head around moving he heli side on or towards me. Have been practicing on the simulator but the penny isnt dropping yet. Any hints or tips on how best to work on this?? I used to race rc cars and never had any trouble with orientiation but the heli is proving a tough nut to crack!!

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers
    Mark.

ill pinch a method janek once posted that cracked it for me instantly

when the heli is nose into you.. imagine the rotor disc as a spining plate now which ever way it moves, move your right stick to "prop" it up

try it on the sim you will be amazed how easy it is!!!!

just start with lazy figure of 8's tail in, then slowly start to turn the heli a little more at each end, and before you know it, it will be flying side on, then nose in and you will have cracked the basics!

take it slowly in stages. hover tail in. then just move the tail a little bit round then when ur comfotable with that, move it a little more round and eventually u crack it and you'll be rock steady! just takes time and practise!
