  • Why am I finding backwards circuits so hard ??

Why am I finding backwards circuits so hard, I find it hard to do in Phoenix, so I haven't even attempted trying with my 450.

I usually f**k it up when the heli is parallel with me, I get fumbled with the ailerons and elevator and end up crashing it.

I'm guessing it's just practise, practise and more practise

Can you hover in all orientations? If not I would learn that, it certainly helped me.

It sorta clicked with me one moment, the second I stopped instinctively pulling back to lift the heli up it all became a lot easier, my backwards figure 8s are still more like figure @s but I can do backward circuits in both directions faily tidily. I haven't had a chance to try it outside yet though, wind has been too strong, so Sim only.

Defo just lots of practice. It is very tricky... but you just have to keep plugging away on the sim for hours. Getting the hang of backwards flight will also really help with inverted circuits. One bit of advice i was given was to master backwards flight before attempting inverted circuits and it really helped me. You will get there... it just takes time for your brain to get the hang of it

I know we're all different in the way we learn things, but what helps me Sam is to not concentrate all my efforts on learning one thing at a time. I have found that by learning several different things at once (5 mins on each thing) It helps to break it up a bit so learning overall seems to be a quicker process.

Another thing I've found is that as soon as you start getting annoyed (frustrated) with one particular thing you're trying to learn. That is the time to move on to something else, then 20 minutes later come back to it and try again.

Might not work for you but that's what I've found works well for me

Yeah, i can hover in all orientations fine, it's just getting the hang of backward flight that i'm finding a bit tricky.

I remember it by both sticks away from each other and then in like they are cross eyed for the other direction if that makes any sense ??

Hover sideways, then move the heli a couple of meters, then hover again. See how this goes.
