  • Which Screwdrivers?

I have changed bits on the heli a few times now and I am constantly stripping the screws supplied with the kit. Do people buy a certain type/size of screwdriver or does everybody else change the screws etc each time the change a part?

    Thanks
    Jim

      Brashhighlander,

Most of the asian heli kits use JIS screwdrivers, these are Japanese Industrial Standard and although they look very similar to Philips and Pozi, those bits just don't fit very well and its easy to strip screwheads.

Buy a T-Rex screwdriver kit and most of your stripping problems will be solved!

          Eat less 'Weetabix'.

Though quality drivers from the online model shops should do the trick.

Their Blue Point (snap-on) offset ratchet drivers.

3 different angles take standard bits, im always using them now, for them hard to reach places

Can you get the small size hex fittings that we use on heli's for them?
                        1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm

Are the fittings rock hard or do they strip a bit easily?

                        Cheers,

the handles are great, with the tips it depends on the quality you buy, you can get them in any sizes available in any nib type. Ive some of the gold ones which are super hard, I bought them at a bike show. but obviously the higher the price the better the quality.

I just carry a little box of nibs, phillips, hex, flat and that does me.
