You'll need charger and batteries going forward anyway so it's a good investment.

        Hi

My local shop had a Blade 450 and a Trex 450 sport on the counter. When you see them up close the difference is clear. Like previous posts have said the Blade has a lot of plastic parts where the Align has composite/metal parts. The electric's have a better "feel" over the Blade to. Seeing these two side by side has made my mind up that the Align is the way to go on my next step. Just got to decide on the Sport V2 super combo or the Pro V2 3GX super combo (with lots of tail gears spare!).

        Hope this helps

I can't believe that this thread has got to post#34 and nobody has asked what vikki intends to do in the future. Its all very well saying the trex 450 is the better heli, yes it is. But does Vikki really need it?

If your intending to fly full on 3D then don't even consider the blade! However if you are loving flying around sport style (8's/ loops/ flips/ etc) then the blade is right back in the picture. yes its a plastic frame but it actually handles a crash remarkably well, lets face it I know that better than most!! It is cheaper to crash, most of the spares come as multi packs and slightly cheaper than align. As for poor quality electrics..Meh....upgrade them as you can afford it and don't forget you can always keep the originals in a box so that your upgrades can move with you,or alternatively sell them on to recoup some of the costs.
And most importantly of all the blade does fly remarkably well when its set up right, which lets be honest does not take much! All the bs about building your first heli from a kit goes straight out of the window as soon as you have your first crash...everybody crashes!!!!....everybody learns about rebuilds!!!!

and the thing that surprises me most?

              Boggy, thank you.

I am looking to sport flying. I doubt I'll ever get good enough for 3D. On the sim I really enjoy just tearing around the sky learning to do co-ordinated turns and coming in for a hover and landing (not all that good at the moment but I'm getting there).

3D seems to go faster than my eye and brain can see and my reflexes aren't what they used to be.

              Best regards.

              Vikki.

Phoenix Turned Up!!! just awaiting the Helo, should be with me tomorrow.

Incidently (I'm a stickler for customer service) I send Bladespares and King Lynn both an email asking for a quote on a Blade 450 and some other bits (before I found the T-Rex) Bladespares sent me an email yesterday, said he was too busy to quote until today.

Kings Lynn, never got back to me, never answered my calls.

Just an FYI - I have dealt with Heliguy for everything else so far. No complaints. althogh I did ask them a whole load of questions using their @30minreply email address. The answer came back a few hours later Advice from them though has been good.

I like to try a few companies to see who I will deal with Long term, not bought anything from Buzzflyer or Fastlad yet, although I will say that Fastlad gave me some excellent adivce when looking at a Blade.

I know its only one persons experience but i haven't found buzzflyer that great .... i ordered some new blades from them for my 450 but the ones they sent (and do actually have associated with the blade 450) are the 400 ones (without the brass insert which HH recommend against)

I noticed this shortly after the order and sent email to ask for clarification but got no response, blades turned up as the 400 ones so i sent them back

Fast-lad i have ordered all my spares from and turnaround time each order has been superb and their competitively priced. They have my long-term purchasing loyalty for now.
