  • Flew MCPX on high rates today.

I've had the MCPX a week now, weather has been pants so every evening hover practice, nose in, side in, then on to the sim.

Today the wind is gone and the sun is out so first thing I went out and flew 3 batteries through MCPX in a field (only have 3 right now, waiting for 6 turnigy's from HobbyKing). After the first I went to the high rates and wow, what a helicopter. This thing shifts!

Managed to get some fast circuits with timid banked turns in, tried to keep a figure 8 but it looked a lot worse than I can do on the sim haha so just went back to zipping around and getting used to the new rates.

Going to make a brew, charge the batteries and head back outside. Damn I wish I had more batteries!

Aye, hit myself on the shoulder on day one. I'm new to RC helis, was flying a Solo Pro for months so MCPX is my first CP. Spent the week hovering on low rates and onto high rates today outside with a few runs. Was super tempted to try a loop but nerves got the better of me haha. It's easy in the sim, not so easy in the field.

dont try a loop till u can fly the tail will blow out if you got at it like u bull in china shop lol if you wanna try a loop goo to a field and get it high so u can recover although if its too windy tail may blow out too hard and it will kiss the dirt i did a loop in wind ok then second loop it just said nah but u right the temptation is too great lol

Set the pitch limits right and the tail won't blow - manual says 75%, I find it's more like 65 max before you have issues.

And don't forget to set it both ways by setting it in "down" direction then moving stick up to set it in up direction!
