  • finally !!

    cut a long story short

went out sat and bought a mcpx to mess around with in the house and to practice my nose in as i didnt have the balls to do it with my 450`s finally got round to useing it sunday night 2 batterys later i was hovering nose in all be it for a few seconds once i had done all 4 batts i decided to give them one more charge each and give it hell and with in the 2nd batt i was doing nose in for a full batt i was well happy with that !! so ive put 4 batt through it for the last few days just doing nose in and can hold it within a 2 foot square

went out today with the 450 ( one of many i have even though they are clones ) it wasnt over windy but there was a bit of wind and i thought to my self sod it if i crash i crash its going to happen sooner or later so up i went got it in to a nice stable hover and off i went doing oval circuits !!!! my old boy was jumping for joy

ok they werent perfect hight etc and some turns were banked turns and other were just up spin tail and hold it nose in and back again but i did that for a full batt and when the old timer started beeping i brought her down and i was shakeing !! i couldnt belive i had done it going into the wind it was nice and slow but turning her round she went like a bat out of hell so sat down had a fag once i calmed down a bit from the rush i thought sod it ill have another go this time in idle up the difference it made to flying it was unreal round and round i was going getting better and better some times just flying around and then other times fly down wind stopping and holding it there to say in happy is an understament !!!

im still buzzing now and ive been home a good hour

the only problem i did have was i had a slight wobble on the tail in idle up but i could cope with that it wasnt to bad

what a buzz im well happy now i finally got the balls to try it !!!

next on the list is to fly it around in a clean way keeping the hight the same i think the mcpx has helped me out loads as its a twichy little shit and the odd 10 mins on the sim but i tend to mess around on there after 5 mins lol

    well happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      thanks vikki

yes im still on a buzz even now i suppose it helped a lot as i used to fly planes many many years ago so i had some insight into flying but that was aleast 8 years ago just wish i hadnt been put off flying helis when i wanted to all i got told was they are hard and you wont be able to do it planes are easyer ... yes they are but helis are so much more fun

i think the biggest boost came from the mcpx over the last few days flying nose in even though i could do it on the sim i couldnt /wouldnt do it with my 450 but the little red devil sorted that

just need to sort out my canopys now as i had trouble seeing them as they are green and black so it looks like a colour change so i can see them a bit better

just wish i have more time to practice but any stick time is a bonus

        It is indeed a bonus.

450 would scare me spitless at the moment, more for fear of crashing it. Larry doesn't seem to mind bit, a big so-and-so would. More practice on the little guys first I think.

          Vikki.
im not to worried about crashing them as they are only clones but it still would p$$$ me off if i did ive got 4 copter x `s and a few hk450`s and at £25 or less for the hk`s its really not that bad i would rather stack one of these than i would my raptor`s ive got but ive upgraded most of them to carbon frames etc

i find the 450 no where near as twitchy as the mcpx i just wish i could get round to getting the rest of the stuff for my raptors but due to the hours i work i fly mostly when people are are work and theres no clubs near me and if there was im not around of a weekend ive just done a lot of reading on how to build and set them up but not 100% for setting the raptor up well engine side of if i have had them out and hovered them but if the engine dies on me i would panic and by by raptor at least with the 450`s i havent got to worry about the engine

but i did have a brown trouser moment last week when my tail fell apart on one of the hk450`s it was about 12 foot in the air and just started to spin on the spot but i did get it down and since changed from the plastic tail to a metal one and problem no more

ive seen your vid and i think you would be able to hover a 450 with out to much trouble
