Hi and welcome.
Get yourself a DX6i and Phoenix sim. This will help with control and has helped me progress alot. Is your heli fixed pitch or collective pitch?Last edited by Rich23; 20-01-2012, 03:11 PM.SAB Goblin 700C - Black Nitro

Hello mate, welcome!
I presume you mean the fixed pitch bee. If this is your 1st heli then a Trex 450 would be a big step up. The bee may be basic and a bit pants but when you crash, which you will, it's supposed to be pretty easy and cheap to repair. A CP heli like a 450 takes a lot more knowledge and set up, is harder to fly, crashes are more likely to do serious (read more expensive) damage, and they are potentially very dangerous.
If you have a local club or experienced flyers nearby then a 450 may be OK, if you're a lone flyer it probably safer to get the hang of the bee before moving up.

i had a belt cp as my first heli and i learnt the hard way which involved many many crashes and repairs. i agree with getting a simulator and a decent transmitter first of all. you will save a lot of money in the long runT- Rex 600 EFL PRO, KontroniK Jive 80HV, Outrage TORQ HV Servos, Skookum bus, BeastX V3, Rail 606

I learnt on a honey bee fp. Great little heli, learn to hover it in all orientations then you'll be set for something bigger and better. I see little to no point getting something expensive to start out with that you will crash over and over. Plus you have the bee now so practice with it. Just my 2p worth.
Sim is always worth it too, Phoenix or Realflight plus a DX6i will serve you really well.

I am self taught. I learnt a lot on a FP bee. Very durable and easy to fix and cheap. I also learnt a lot and probably a heap more on an mCPX and phoenix sim.
I don't know what level you are at but if you can hover it well then maybe time to move up. If your going to fly at a club and know your going to stick with it then go for it as you got help and support.
If you cant hover it and are going it alone then I don't see the point in buying a 450 as it will cost you loads more money to buy and a lot of time, patience and money to fix it when you crash until you get to grips with it. I don't advise anyone to teach themselves with a 450 or bigger bird. Its a dangerous machine in the wrong hands of someone who cant control it.
Good luck and stick with it.MCPX, TREX 250 SE FBL, CLONE 450 SE V2 FBL, 450 SPORT V2 3GX
