  • Transmitter setting question

    Hi all
Besides trying to hover in one spot on Phoenix , I am trying to get to grips with understanding all the settings on a transmitter. I have a DX6i and was wondering if anyone could point me to any information on this forum about what each setting does to better understand when i come to setup my own heli. There seems to be alot of different settings you can set, of course i can blindly just look at ohter peoples settings but i do believe its in any beginners best interest to understand what effects these changes have when you are in the air.

expo is proberly the most important for a beginner. i makes the stick less sensative arround mid stick but still alows the servos their full travel. i use about 20% expo on all my helis but for you id suggest higher to say 30/35% expo.
basically little and often stick movements it what your doing to hover but with expo increased the movements wont have such a direct influence on the heli and you can make bigger movements with the same affect.
problem is if you go too far on the expo the heli wont react quickly when you need it too.
