  • First Major Crash

well just got in from the garden and my first heli crash, a gust of wind lifted and blew the heli towards me and i panic'd and i ditched it. Belive it or not im feeling quit good about it, not really sure why. Maybe the thought that im still alive and not injured. i really dont know.

Got the vid and some pics will upload them in a sec

wow looks nasty The noise your lady friend made did make me chuckle though haha. Hope you get it fixed soon!

Do yourself a favour and take four rubber bands and wrap one around each end of the skids (keep doubling it up till its tight) Thisll stop it skating around so much when your spooling up.

Ouch! I'd rather ditch than be hit by something that powerful as well.

Hope it doesn't cost too much to repair and that you are back up and flying again soon.

not wanting to add any insult you was hovering quite well but have you thought about training gear and nice sprung set

had you of had the training gear on you have most probably half ed your damage list i kept my training gear on for ages 4 mouths until i was very confident on tail in flight moving forward and backward left and right i took my training gear off when i went looking for a larger places to fly than out side my door

get some like this that lift the heli off the floor adds a little spring to the landing you can make them your self very easily

We live and learn indeed buddy. You did the right thing by dropping it before someone got hurt, and these buggers really can ! Cheap as chips to repair and be up and frightening the brown stuff out of you again very soon though. Keep stirring away Matt, it may take a while, like with me that means bloody never ho hum, but good luck with it.

Training gear would not have saved anything, heli landed tail first and then fell sideways onto its back. i was going to buy some but the guy in the model shop said its not really worth it as there is no crash resistance, just more balance on take offs.

One of those things mate and this will be the first of many I'm afraid. Some good solid hovering until the wind got hold of it. Have you got a sim? Can save a lot of money when first starting out.

The first time you hit the ground it hurts.

It becomes 2nd nature the more you do it

Gives good practice in setting it up again

I am a little worried about repairing it properly, i mean catching the little things that could cause a problem.

Just been looking over it and i think i have smashed a servo gear aswell, are these gears available?
