Digital tail servo directly into RX

Hi folks

Newbie type question here but I'm adding the tail servo (Futaba 9650) and gyro (Spartan 760) to my MT this weekend. For initially setting things up I take it that it is OK to plug the servo directly into the receiver? I'm just confused because it's digital?
