  • Getting back into rc helis after a few years break

    Hi all,

Started off with a CX2 a couple of years and then quickly (probably too quickly) went and bought a TREX 500. Ended up crashing the trex, never repaired it and eventually lost interest and sold everything.

I was given an xmas present of a cheap 3Ch heli and I remember how much fun these things really can be!

I obviously need to get myself a decent heli but would rather take it a bit slower this time around and get myself a nice indoor heli. Was looking at getting a mCX2 and mSRx, in the meantime keeping an eye out for a DX6i. (One thing I did keep was the pheonix sim, but if I remember correctly, I need a DX6i to hook up to??)

What are your thoughts on buying both the mCX2 and mSRx, or should I just go with one or the other?
Any other recommendations to a guy returning to the hobby?!!

    THanks!

Heya and welcome back to the hobby .. Personally .. I would go with one or other and a decent tx ... that way you can play on the sim and the real heli to your hearts content till you ready for a step up ... Addictive aint it lol ..

      MSR-X, DX6i and Phoenix - you can't go wrong.
      Good luck

great, thanks for the replies. Is the MSR-x much more difficult to fly than the mCX2? What are the pros and cons of each? Just want to check before I order online and I don't have any other people to be advised by other than here (no local flying club where I am located in Ireland!).

It is more challenging but it will take you one hell of a lot longer to get bored of it and is much better preparation for cp helis because it behaves similar to cp but without the ability to fly inverted.
