  • Quick Thread....Best Main Blade for TREX 600 .... STABILITY WANTED !

As the question says.... I want to buy a couple of sets of nice STABLE Main Blades. If they are all singing and dancing ...fine.... but stability in the hover and basic manoevering first and foremost please.

    EDIT / For a TREX 600e

Most decent carbon main blades will do what you want.
    Look at:

    SAB 600
    NHP
    BBT
    Radix
    V

The paddles you use (and flybar weights) will make a bigger difference to the stability of the heli than any differences between the blades listed above in terms of hovering about.

    Cheers,

Just using what came in the box.....

The blades you suggest all wibble on about sport and 3d flight..... none sort of say...rock steady hover for newbies.....
if there's nothing like that then I'll grab some carbon NHP's ?

if your learning just use a cheap set of wood blades
there fine until you start wanting to fly crazy style and high head speeds
dont waste money on 40-50 blades when 15-20 will do just as good

To the best of my knowledge, no blade packets say "rock steady hover for newbies" on them
          NHPs will be fine.

For added stability, bung some flybar weights on your flybar next to the paddles.
          Cheers,

ok....I'll go try and find some flybar weights....thanks..... I'll grab the carbons.... anything i need to know about them other than 600mm size ? No special washers/spacers needed or anything like that ?

Cheers for the advice both of you

Some blades come with spacers in the box in case they're needed.
Ask the supplier if the blades you're buying need spacers to fit the 600e and if so, are they included in the box.

I think, these days, most blades have a pretty standard sized root for 50 sized helis.

if your just pottering around then any blade on the market will work for you. the difference between a good and average blade really is at the top end of the performance. by that i mean how quick they are for cyclic, pitch changes and how much they bog the engine.

my own choices in preference order i have flown are

radix-best blades for trex imo, bad price
                sabs-great blades and decent price
JP -good blades for price if you aint stick banging
align-why do they make these, truely awful, no cheap nor performance.

the rest i can't comment on but for you i would say that NHP's, BBT's or JP's will suffice unless you want to throw it about a little then you'll be looking at sabs/radix.

                cheers

I agree - JPs would be a good cheap choice for you if you must have carbon blades at the hovering stage.

                      I'm using Ripmax white carbon's almost identical to JP's & Sab 600's
They fly real nice on my trex 600e (I mean hover nice) I Havent tried the NHP's on it which are on my raptor 50. If you want me too I can do that friday afternoon & report back to you on how they feel in the hover.
I'm fairly new to all this too

JP's are your best choice, if you can find them, failing that Funkee glass ones would do you ( from LHC )
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                        And a DX8 too

Midlands sell them, but there not shown on there web site, i had a pair when i first got my airskipper as they was cheap and i didnt have enough to get the blades i like (NHP) and they was bad, i was getting bad tracking and blade flutter was found that the blades had a bend in them, i changed to NHPs and all was perfect
