  • I think i'm hooked

Well if anyone has read my newbie post, then im sorry for repeating myself.
I am new to rc heli and have been flying my 3ch heli's for nearly a year now. I have an s107 and u6 and a s026 chinook. I have a 4ch gyroscope heli and a DX6i on its way too.
So today being anxious waiting i popped into my local model shop avicraft and purchased a Nano sr 2.4ghz 4ch.
been practising with it all day but cant seem to stop it drifting to the left even with the trim fully adjusted. but nice heli

post a vid as non coaxial helis go left anyways but if its extreme adjust some links if they adjustable but count any turns and write em down so if u muck things up u can put back to a base point

Congratulation on getting hooked that why we are all here!

When you say drifting to the left are you talking rotation or sideways drift there is a difference. I'm not familiar with the Nano but it appears an entry level heli so it will not have a head locking gyro so they will tend to spin one way or the other. If it is rotational drift there maybe a gain pot on the gyro that can be adjusted to compensate? sideways drift can be trimmed out by adjusting one of the link lengths to the swashplate. Have a look in the manual if there is one you need to trim the heli mechanically if your trims are all the way to the end.

      Cheers

Mate don't worry about the drifting, the entry level helis can be put together with a bit of lapse attention to detail. Just check your links and the swash level on power up. Don't spin it up just look at the swash and if it is not level adjust the links to make it level.

        Cheers

thanks guys will check it out when back at work tomorrow but it is left drift with slight backwards drift. I can compensate the back drift with the trims but the side drift seems like the swash plate is out of alignment so have re-aligned this manually and will check again tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Not sure how much you know about helis and physics, but if you are trying to fly the heli with the blade rotor disk horizontal, then you will have a problem. Nobody can do that. It has to lean a bit to the right. It has to balance the tail force which is pulling to the left.

Yes thanks I understand that it has to compensate for the tail but it looks like its leaning to the left, giving me left drag. it have tweaked it now and its alot more stable.
