newbie here, advice wanted on possible battery problems on i heli t series t05

for xmas i received a little micro helicopter. not a cheapo one prob cost around £30. it was brilliant but a little small and i mastered it after having only had it a day, so i decided i wanted something bigger and on gumtree found one local, its a i heli t series T-05. it was only £25 which i believe is cheap as on ebay its nearly £45.
however after charging for 2 hours i cant get it to lift more than 1ft off the ground. i asked the person i bought it off and he said hed only used it a few times and since buying it new everytime he charged it he did so for only an hour. i believe batteries have memories of soughts and possibly hes not charged it enough and ruined the battery. everything seems to work ok, except the helicopter seems underpowered. my little micro one when battery is low it does the same thing this does except the t05 does it right after charging

has the previous owner messed the battery up or could it be something else ?

i just charged it again for 2 hours and i managed to get it to about 9 feet off the ground but after a minute or so it begins to slowly go lower and lower, does this suggest battery problems

Could be a number of things wrong, but it will not be battery memory issues.

The charger may not be fully charging the pack, the motor may be worn out and not generating enough rpm, the blades may be out of shape and not generating enough lift.

I have to be honest though, if you are drawn to this hobby then I'd stop wasting money on these very low cost helis as they are just a waste of money if you are serious about this as a hobby.

Look at the Blade mCX or mSR as a way forward.

Sounds like the batteries are buggered! Over discharged might be the cause.

Also sounds like you might have the bug ;-)

You wouldn't go wrong in getting your hands on a mSR (Horizon) or SoloPro (nine eagles) type heli next and also Pheonix sim.

well like ive said when the helicopter is first switched on it will go as high as the ceiling indoors, but the power seems to go within a minute or two suggesting the charge has been drained from the battery

Do yourself a big favour and get a proper heli, those things are nowt but toys!
Blade mcx2 if you want a coax (contra rotating blades) or Blade msr-x single rotor flybarless heli; you will not master the msr-x for quite a while.

well i got a little syma s107 for xmas which was very good and easily controlable but id mastered it within a day and wanted something a little bigger. so i got that. i dont think its motor issues as it will go as high as the ceiling but after a minute or too its like the battery gets drained.
any recommendations on a good beginners model for outdoors ? id be willing to spend about £100. ive ordered a battery from the usa so hopefully thats the problem

no, its just a case of unplugging the battery from the helicopter and plugging the charger connection in

Yep - Blade MSR or MSRX, Heliguy Atom single rotor, or even MCPX if you're feeling brave - all good small starter helis with spares available and community support.
Basically, if the tail rotor is horizontal, not going to be anywhere near as good, wont fly like a real heli and will probably die in a crash with no chance of spares.
Some will suggest coax helis, personally I'm not a fan.

Ah, just noticed your outdoor comment, that complicates things a bit. Small helis, with the exception of the mcpx are poor except in still conditions.
MCPX can handle a stiff breeze, but it's CP and outside your budget.

its not a budget as such, id just have to save a little longer. well another question, what is the best outdoor use helicopter for the money for beginners but for someone who easily picks things up.id prefer a larger helicopter rather than something 7" long

Hmmm thats how a lot of us started, I had a syma s107 last christmas by the end of feb I'd got 3 helis and 1 plane and the s107 had been passed on because I'd got bored with it; dont fight it, go with the flow!!!
