Put in your location and it will help you find a local club, where there will be plenty of people keen to help out.

Hi , i started out with these guys East Sussex Model Flyers just along the road @ Uckfield, meet every Wednesday for indoor flying & out doors in summer..... think they are having a Xmas curry night this next week 14th tho !. Friendly bunch !

I didn't try the Crawley club as there website seem to show there indoor stuff to be mainly micro planes (yuk) There is a contact e-mail on that ESMF website in the "where when what " section , they do fly planes but it's 95% Heli's
