how do i invert ?

Hi all,
I am very new to the hobby and only fly phoenix at the moment, I was wondering how do i set up my DX8 to fly upside down ? i think its called reverse pitch or something.. anyway, i think i have to assign a switch to do this..
and yes, i am concentrating on my hover, i just get bored after a while and do loops etc and i see all these guys online flying inverted and wanted to have a go..

You need to make sure you have;

0 degrees pitch at mid stick
+11 degrees (personal preference) pitch at full positive collective
-11 degrees (personal preference) pitch at full negative collective

...you should have the above anyway really as long as you have a linear pitch curve (o,25,50,75,100)

Then, just put a flat thorttle curve in (80, 80,80, 80)

Hi Rob

Either set up idle up on your transmitter or just press '3' on the keyboard to take u into idle up. Then just flip the heli and pull down on the left stick to go up.

I think your better learning how to setup your Tx in order to do this. You will then start to understand your Tx and the mechanics of inverted, pitch/throttle curves and how these work

Very good answer, Much better the learn what your doing on the sim than on a heli!

Did my first lot of inverted over the weekend. Such a great feeling when you can hold an inverted hover.

Don't forget to practice upright too, you can quickly become inverted happy and upright can lead to brain fade, at my age anyway

Clench arse cheeks, pray, whack in some forward elevator, lean ur body forwards as if ur the heli, flip back out, look round to see if anyone saw, shake leg to remove unwanted items from your trouser leg, repeat from the start
