  • indoor heli that will work with a dx6

    afternoon all,

    I am looking to get a little indoor heli, something that will be a bit of fun buzzing around the sitting room. Previously I had a CX2 and loved it, but sold that to fund my Mini Titan.

    I was thinking about building up a CX2 from parts as I have a spare receiver, the servos, and a DX6… but gah that DX6 will not work with the CX2.

    The DX7 works fine, but trading my 6 for a 7 will cost a bit.

    Does anyone know of an indoor heli that will work fine with the DX6?

    thanks in advance

    If you fancy an indoor heli, just buy the heli you prefer, or have been recommended (I like the hummingbird series!) then simply replace the RX with the spektrum AR6000 (only weighs 7 grams).

    That way you can fly on the DX6 and if you ever upgrade to the DX7 that will also work with that receiver.

      Not so easy if the heli uses an "all in one" unit...
      I believe the Blade CX heli can be used with DX6/DX7 though...
      I'm sure there was a thread on here about it already - search the forum and see what crops up

        yep - I think the 4in1 is the problem

        I am searching the forums but not found anything yet... the dx6 uses dsm1 whilst the dx7 and cx2 use dsm2,... I think.

        i wonder if it would be possible to bypass the need for a 4in1 by mixing channels in the radio and a cheapo gyro????

          maybe I am approaching this at the wrong angle, and this would be a better question;

          what do you think is the best indoor heli, that is not a contra rotating CX2 or similar?

                      that is all too big I am afraid. I have no access to an indoor venue; all i have is an average size sitting room

                      I am looking for something more than a picoo z; max size would be the CX2.

                      I have done some further investigation on the CX2, and horizon have told me that the 3in1 which ships with the Blade CP pro will work fine. These are about twenty quid on fleabay at the moment, so I am thinking og building one from parts, so as not to get stuck with a radio, servos and bits of plastic I dont need.
