  • CSM Revlock 10

Ive just brought a csm rvlock 10 to fit my trex 600n but while at my local field today the 2 experianced flyers in our club said it was a bad choice and i should smash it with a lump hammer, They said they are hard to setup right and play up a lot
I got the impression from here that they were good am i wrong or are they talking crap

they dont know what they are talking about. If you know how to set em up they are great. just gotta get the mechanical setup of the throttle servo correct.

only time i have had major issues is on dodgy makes of engines and dodgy makes of mufflers.

i would be more worried about the model your fitting it in :-)

I have a revlock20 - which is basically the same as a revlock 10 but has a pc interace (that I didn't use so far).

Its been pretty much faultless for me (if you don't count one accidental hot start on 2000 rpm!).

Assuming you have the heli already setup on reasonably good throttle curves, just leave them the same (then the revlock listens to the throttle in anticipation - called feedforward in a control system). If the sensor falls off or magnet falls out the throttle will then just follow the old throttle curve and not do anything dangerous.

Then all you need to do is fit the revlock and sensor, and setup the extra channel for the head speed you want and for it to be off in normal, 1700 or so in idle 1 and 2000 or so in idle2.

Keep the LED crib sheet handy to sus out the speed settings and mount the revlock where you can see it during starting (trex600n has an opaque canopy? - I can see mine through the screen on my rappy). you want to see the seneor OK led when you first spin the motor.

I heard you have to run 2400 rpm and +/- 15 degrees of collective on a trex600n to make it responsive

the throttle geometry is very important. 60 120 en points will not do the job.

get it right as per the page above and you will not have any problems.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread. Does anyone have a working link to Ade's revlock set up?

                      Cheers!
