If you fancy a run up to Oban I can help you. I am sure there are people in Glasgow that will be nearer though but if you are stuck ......

if your in glasgow then waterfoot heli club is close to you, i'm a member there and someone would be happy to check over your heli.

you would be wise to consider joining a club as it will make the learning experience easier :-)

          cheers

sometimes the website does play up a bit but basically the membership fee's are £70 for the first year (this includes a £10 joining fee for the first year) and then £60 per year after that (at the moment and for as long as the rent stays the same ). The SAA insurance is £27 and if you pay that now it will cover you until the 31st December 2012. The only restriction at the field are you can't fly on your own unless you have passed the SAA bronze examination (or equivalent) but we do have 24hr 365 day access so as long as its not raining we can and do fly .

Facilities wise, we have a 35ft cabin, car parking, patio, battery bank for charging, 3 pit tables that hold plenty of gear and a full tuck shop that is very reasonably priced .

The best way to join to be honest is to come up to the field on a Sunday & meet the guys there, we are there pretty much every week (unless it's raining). The chairman is also one of the top pilots in the uk and pretty much lives there at the weekends (only joking Matt ).

Hope this helps you mate and we look forward to seeing you at the field

                          have you actually flown before?

you do realise you WILL be crashing a LOT and you don't want a scale ship to do that.

                          cheers

no i have not flown bwfore, to be honest thats why i bought a scale kit, i figured it would protect it more when i crash... until i saw how flimsy it was

blue notepad? i don't follow. edit-i think it is the way you view the forum. it is on default now for me.

you 100% don't want scale to learn with. take it off and sell it and buy spares.

                              cheers
