Certainly is... it's a big, big rotor disc compared to the 450. And your inevitable learner crashes are going to be even more heart rendering More heli, more blades, more inertia, more weight = more mess. Quite often a 450 can really pile in and the damage is minimal. Minor ding with a 600 can be messy.

Well I have a 450SE and my flying buddy has a 450 plus a 600n. If I had the cash, or a fresh start, I'd be flying the 600 now (but the 'e' rather than the 'n'). The biggest difference between the 600 and the little 450 is that with the 600 everything happens slower and smoother and you can see it clearly at a sensible flying distance. Obviously the 600 can manage a higher speed than the 450, but for learning, the problem is all about how quick it seems to be. The larger size just makes the whole experience easier. However, I don't want to rubbish the 450, I love mine, even though it scares me half to death each time I get her doing ff - no wait, that feeling is probably why I love it so much, I think its called excitement. My electic powered glider is as thrilling to fly as a one stringed kite, serene yes, relaxing yes, but boring! Thats why I love the 450 and if I had the cash I'd be loving a 600e too .
Oh and if you get the chance buy a 2.4GHz system like the DX7 or the Futaba FASST - do away with crashes caused by stupid glitches and bad bearings.......
