  • Belt CP Question

Anyone know how to tell when the Gyro is in HH or Rate(Normal) mode ?
I ttried phoning Buzzflyers who sold it to me but they either never answer their phone or emails or get back to you.

Good Price, Rapid delivery and was RTF but..... post sale .... not so hot.

I take it its this Gyro EK2 0704A Head lock gyro?

If so then you need to connect the single wire connector to the gyro rate channel on your radio and if you do some raking around this forum theres an explanation of how to check which mode its in.

Sorry I cant be more helpful!

When the gyro is in rate mode, the tail servo will follow your stick movement, when it is HH mode, the gyro will move the tail servo, but won't let it come back until it has got the correct response from the heli, if its on the ground it won't get this so it will wind it to the end point and wait, it might zip back from the end point a fraction when you release the stick. Hope this helps.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

      And a DX8 too

Have a read of this, it will explain alot more about gyro's than I could write in this reply.

Try just putting in a movement, say fully to the left, the tail servo moves. In Normal ( Rate ) mode, when you let go of the stick the tail servo returns to the centre. In HH ( heading hold ), put in the same movement, and sure enough the tail servo moves, the difference is when you let go of the stick, the tail servo should stay where it is ( it might jump back a fraction ) This is because the gyro now has control of the tail servo, and it has not seen the correct response from the heli ( cause it hasn't moved ) so it holds the tail servo waiting for the heli to turn,

I hope that make's sense. I can't think of any simpler way to put it.
