    hi,

ive been trying to hover since fitting a futaba 520 gyro, but when i lift off the training gear the heli is in a perminant left slide????, if i turn the tail into the slide it still carries on but at the altered angle?. i check swash and its level even tried opp trim and it STILL does it, and if i bring the right stick back its kinda digging the back corner in and forward pitch does the same but opposite corner i cant hold heli still enough to hoover all im doing is going rd in a big circle with training gear bouncing alone the ground...... any ideas what im doing wrong? i have put +30 expo on it could this be the prob or is the gyro not working properly?

    any help guys?
If your not flying .....then make sure you crash with style

hi am a beginner as well and usual gyro set up is a pain in the.....all expo does is give u some space(less sensitivity)in mid sticks so i would start check from links then gyro gain and servo travel...just got a JR G770T gyro and after a day of settings and testings i want to sell it it's just to edgy...no for a beginners(i think)...hope u'll sort your probs soon

have you check the c of g of the heli because on small heli this can make a lot of diffence

I'm assuming you've trimmed the heli, make sure at centre stick with a straight line pitch curver that your swash is level, if it's not alter the links to make it so.

Sounds to me like you are still in ground effect. This is where the down draft from the rotor hist the ground and sort of bounces back up to the rotor (simple explanaition). Any object between the rotor and the ground will cause the heli to move. If you are on even slightly sloping ground the heli will follow the slope down. Ground effect exists generally to about 1/2 the rotor diameter. get the heli above this height and things should smooth out considerably.

Check your swash is level From bottom to top, and all travel in between when just applying collective

what about your swash mix setup?make it 60/60/60 and give it a try
am thinking about best beginner word of advice i've received and i think it was "...take that silly t gear off! set your thro curve (norm)POINT L-0% POINTS 1,2,3,4,5 to H-90% for electric motors and hover slowly but surely..." this t curve eliminates jumps and downs giving u smooth head speed and if your set up isn't right u'll notice it just before hover point...helped me lots

i noticed with training gear that the down draft hits this and alters the pitch/angle of the heli, virtually impossible to hover well for any length of time, take it off and use a hoola hoop, but be a bit careful when landing as you're now coming down on the skids and these don't have as much give as the T/G.
