      Gaz,

You are more that ready for the jump. One thing I will say is that you're going to have to start timing your flights as your batteries on bigger helicopters will not last very long if you fly them until the heli can't stay in the air.

Think about some thing a little bigger maybe a 450 / 500 as the really small ones are a bit of a buzy thing to keep under control. but those two are probably the best size / cost tradeoff for spares and ease of control. 600 is nice and stable but repair costs are proportionally more expensive...

I think you are ready for a proper sim like Phoenix. You may be ready for a Cp heli and probably are. The heli you have is stable in hover but a Cp isn't. You won't find it a big deal so long as you expect hovering to be more tricky. An mcpx flown over long grass is one option as you'll be able to make mistakes without breaking a lot of bits. You'll need a sim for later on anyway.3.7V to 3.8V per cell after a flight is about right. It's better if you measure it on load and keep it above 3.5V. Keep the lipos warm for charging and flying in the Winter. Keep the lipos at a storage voltage of between 3.8 and 3.9V.

On the sim you can practice with wind and with flying a heli that is not in trim. You do stand a good chance though with a Cp if you just ignore the boring advice and just go for it.

Then you have to decide how much to spend and what to buy. Lots of advice available. Blade 400, Trex 450 and Trex Clones are popular. Check the spares availabilty before you buy anything.

Thanks all for the replys, nice of you to fill me with confidence,to be honest though,i now feel i dont need to have that intense concentration that a did have at the beginning, seems to just feel much more natural and enjoyable now.Thats the way i like it,not saying it wont get more intense as it probably will, but i feel im on the right track and should be half descent eventually
