What should I buy for a budget of £200

I have had quite a few smaller helicopters and recently purchased a larger outdoor helicopter a G- Bladez Z max. Which I was very disappointed with. Even on the calmest days it had no forward movement. It was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I have now set myself a more realistic budget of £200 and I am looking for a 450 which I can fly out doors on reasonable calm days. What do your suggest?

Assuming that you don't have a suitable transmitter you may need another £100 in your budget to get a 450 up and flying. The blade 3d used to be one of the popular entry routes as it included the spectrum dx6i transmitter which gives access to the bnf (bind and fly) as well as any other second hand bnf spec model from 250 to 700+.

Hi Thumper and welcome to the forum

Helis that will fly outside in a bit of wind are a totally different animal to what you have experienced so far, and a much harder to fly!

If you are serious about wanting to learn how to handle a proper collective pitch heli, then by far the best route is to buy yourself a decent radio like a Spektrum DX6i or DX7 and a good RC simulator like Phoenix. The radio will stand you in good stead for when you do get a proper heli and the simulator will not only teach you how to fly one but will take you all the way from first hovers to doing 3D.

Yeah I know you want to get your hands on an actual model to fly, which is fine if you have loads of money to splash out on a constant cycle of crash/repair, crash/repair whilst learning. Doing it that way is not only slow, its also blerdy expensive and rather disheartening

Spend your £200 on a good radio and Phoenix, they will give you a far more productive introduction to outdoor heli flying.

i'll be selling my mini titan once it's fixed, it's RTF at the moment with the thunder tiger rx, tx, &gyro but it's 35mhz, you might want to upgrade the TX, i'll even bung in a decent gyro, all you'll need then to upgrade is a corresponding RX for your chosen radio. they are a bit of a handful if you've not flown collective pitch before, my best advice when you do buy one is get some tuition and a sim.

Cant Stress enough how important your radio is, it has to feel right in your hands, then get the sim :-) that will teach you loads, Then get yourself a second hand Trex 450 or 500.
