  • raptor 30 v2 main blade grips on a raptor 30 v1

hi all, i have quite alot of up and down slop in my raptor 30 v1, after flying it yesterday i got the dreaded whoof whoof sound, i installed a brand new set of blade grips but i still have up and down slop. I know the raptor 30 v2 has overcome this problem so i was wondering without going to the expense of rplacing the whole head is it possible to just change my v1 grips for a set of v2?

    thanks all

The V2 uses a different and thicker feathering spindle... so the v2 will not go throught the pivot in the v1 hub. You will also need new bearings, thrust bearings spindle etc. You could post out wanted for the parts that you need to do a conversion. Sure some peeps will have certain spares lying around.

        HI Boggy,

yes mate the slop is comming from the grips. since i put new grips on the slop is not as bad but it is still there.
I have checked the spindle and it is straight. It seems as though the blade grips are too big for the bearings or the spindle is too small for the bearings if you know what i mean?

When you say rubber dampers where do you mean as there are no rubber parts on the grips. only bearings, collars, and a three piece thrust bearing.
Can you explain where i should be looking?

found them now but without the grips on the spindle is solid and does not move at all. i even struggle to get the spindle through the head it is that tight even with a little oil.

i might just have to replace the head which i did not want to do with the cost of this minor upgrade i might aswell go buy a whole rappy v2
