  • Lubricating oil confusion

I'm looking for an oil that I can use to lubricate all the moving parts of my Trex 550e. I've been told by some to get 3 in 1 oil, but having read further it seems that I probably need a synthetic oil so I don't have to worry about it going onto any plastic parts and degrading them?

I did have some triflow grease, but that was a dead loss as it was so thick. I also think it's petroleum based, so also potentially not right for what I'm looking for.

Can anyone please send me a link to suitable all round product that is in stock?

    Many thanks.

Scorpion motor oil is what I use, you really only have to lube the main shaft where the swash rides and the tail shaft where the brass bushing moves on it. I also lube motor bearings, but I do run Scorpion motors.

These points are really no where near plastics but it won't hurt them if it does get on them.

I would use full synthetic in the head to be safe on the dampeners and plastic grips if you have them.

I use a number of products.

I have Opticlean, Optilube and Optigear Optilube Lubrication Oil 50ml

Also use the triflow stuff Tri-Flow Lubricant 12oz AEROSOL - TF20027

And the Scorpion oil on the bearings and sometimes other places too
