Blade 120 SR flight issue, and Cam advice needed=)!

Hey everybody, i joined yesterday, this just seems like the right place to be!.

I recently bought Phoenix and a DX5E (limited budget, or i would have upgraded).
After several hours of learning how to fly the 120 SR i decided to take it out for its first flight, to my annoyance it insisted on slowly landing. I read up on this forum and i believe i found my problem, i inccorectly charged my Li-Po, i took it of charge while the charger was flashing several lights, where as i am ment to remove it when the lights stream left to right ...... Since then i have fully charged my battery, and it still insists and landing after 12 or so seconds, also the li-po is very hot. I assume i have burnt the life from my battery?, anyway .............. to the questions!

1.Where can i find a suitable 3.7v 500 mAh (1.9Wh) 12c LiPo?. I've heard that the E-Flite are a bad make to begin with ........... It would also be a bonus to find one with a higher Amp, for increased flight time!. Should my current LiPo be binned?, i dont want to risk it smoking / blowing up! :/

2. I've read alot about Keychain Cams, i would love to be able to attach a light-weight cam to my 120 SR for some in flight video. I've spent hours researching what one to get, but its almost impossible, soon as i find a suitable one, i read reviews, and it says how some are named Keychain 808, yet there is several versions of that one alone, and only 1 is suitable, the others are a fake rip of. If anybody could point me to the perfect cam i would be greatful. I am willing to buy one of a member, or a website, thanks!

I am setting up my 120SR with a keychain camera and found this site to be the biggest help!

... I got a "#3" camera as described on his site and it works great.

I have stripped the case off of it and mounted the camera on the 120sr separate from the battery for balance and I'm getting very good results, especially with my "patented" anti-vibration system...

Hi. I will also advice that the triple pack Lipos are brilliant. I had a similar issue with the stock eflite battery, stop using it and order some. Im not sure if I can say where you can buy them from but google it and you may come across them.

As for the charger, when the light are moving left to right, that is in charge mode. when all the lights start to flash, that is when the charge is complete. Also I charge mine in 0.4 amp charge, it takes a bit longer but it should help the battery last longer.

I also have a key chain camera not tried it yet. The blade SR120 is alot of fun and a small step into a larger Heli World.

Thanks for all the replies, I will move up my Lipo-pack to a triple when i find one! . I Ordered a 808 #11 keychain cam too. I watched your video on the anti vibration, but how did you accomplish that in detail? its clarity is brilliant!.
I also found out my battery problem, the Lipo was running at 40Ma out of 500Ma!, i put this down to myself inccorectly charging it, however even now i still only get 4 mins flight time, awful :/. I will also be charging at 0.4 Ma from now on, i'll report back with results, thanks again!

Tom, this is the least vibration I've seen on a 120 SR keychain camera video. Can you describe your mount in detail? Or show a picture? I've had no luck getting good video with mine.

Sorry but thats incorrect information.

When the right-most light is flashing, its charging. When ALL lights are flashing at the same time, its "almost done". When the lights are "streaming" left to right then it is charged. Note that it says "charging" for about 5 minutes and then "Almost done" for about 20!

Note that itll take about 40-45 minutes to charge a pretty well depleted stock eflight 500mah battery @ 0.7 amps. 4 minutes flight time is about right. You should time it so you still have 30 seconds or so of use and stop before your battery becomes noticeably flat. Repeatedly running it down like this will severely shorted its life span.
