  • Raptor 30 v1

Hi guys, i have a raptor 30 v1 with the bog standard analog servos (nes-507) apart from my tail sevo which i have (jr 8900g) with a gy401, however i have a spares box with digital servos. 3x spectrum ds821 and 1x spectrum ds811.
If you was me would you swap out the analog servos for the digital ones i have. If you would where would you put them?
all i am doing at the moment is learning to hover but within a few hours of flying i plan to be moving around a little not much though.

hi bongo, using what is has is ok for what you are doing, i would use them to learn with, if its flying ok dont change it, when your flying has progresses more then think about it

i have used the ds821 on cyclic on a raptor in the past, they are not that much quicker and i found them fragile after a hard landing or crash, what stage is your flying at? are you forward flying yet? maybe see how you get on eith analoge for a bit, if your at the crashing/ heavy landing stage, save them for then

thats one question i wanted to ask. all i'm doing at the moment is bringing the heli to a hover about head hight. Then moving forward, back and landing my problem is my landing. the decent is alot quicker than the take off but the stick movement is the same (i'm not chop sticking)
heli gets light on it's skids at just below mid stick, a very slight movement above mid stick the heli starts to hover 6 inch off the ground , now i'm talking 1mm extra on the throttle stick and the heli goes up about 5 feet but still stable and under controll.
My problem is there is very little movement in the throttle stick between 6 inch and 5 foot off the ground.
my thottle curve is 0, 50,100
          my pitch curve is 0, 5, 9
Is there a way to soften the throttle and or pitch?

Forgot to mention i am practicing with aerofly pro, which has helped me tons keeping control and is alot easier to land than my rappy even though it is setup the same.
Also forgt to mention i am using an xp652 tx so only has 3x curve settings for normal mode and 2x curve settings for stunt/ 3d.

still need the question answering guys.

I have 3x spectrum ds821's and 1x jr ds811 in my spares box. I am runing all analog servos jr nes-507 with the exception of the tail which is a jr 8900g. As it stands at the moment i'm just into forward flight would you use these servos on a rappy 30 or would you sudgest i buy others and flog these?

                    many thanks

They will be fine until you want to progress beyond circuits.

If you change the servos make sure they are all the same and not a mis-matched set on the cyclics.

Raptor 30 will fly just fine as it is with analog servos. Unless you are really abusing it and throwing it about like a 3D god.
