  • 250 heli......could be fun

    hi all,

just ordered a 250 heli why????? blame it on impulse,

basically i'll prob never fly it just want to build it

so as i've no idea the size involved im turning to you guys for advice,

    1, what cyclic servos?

    2, what tail servo?

    3, what gyro?

    4, what battery?

    5, what ESC?

    6, AND FINALLY what motor?

now i dont want align this and spartan that, i just want Cheap and does the job, i know yes the gyro has to be the expensive part and you get what you pay for etc etc, but the heli was less the £25 posted so dont want to spent a fortune on something i'll prob never lift off the ground, i just want to be able to tick off my 'yep done that!' list.

    all the best guys

    steve

The batterys are 850-1000mAh 3S they work fine in mine.

Tail servo i have a futaba S3153 with a Quark gyro and tail is well mannered. You wont get very much bigger than a quark on the heli due to the available space

Standard Trex 250 motor - 250SP Brushless Motor(3400KV) RCM-BL250SP - Electronics Motor - ALIGN-TREX.co.uk, Specialist supplier of kits and spares in RC Helicopters

Never used any of the kit mentioned above, but personally I would look for a cheap second hand Align GP750 gyro or similar. If you really don't want to spend much then give that HK GA 250 gyro a go, however i'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for!

I have just built a really cheap 250 (even cheaper bits than you are looking at) and I have that gyro and so far it works a treat. I have the heli setup with a low head speed just for pottering about in the garden so it's not being worked that hard but for what I want it's fine

You can fly the 250 just put loads of expo on the cyclics and limit the roll rate of the Aileron and elevator, thats what i did with mine and its really docile, flys like a dream very stable in the hover.just find somewhere inside to fly it first, then fly it outside in the calm of the morning or night

Thanx mark that's good to know I don't want to go expensive I've got my 450 for that!! Just want something of a bit of fun really,

And its good to know about the expo because from what I,ve been reading the 250 is a animal near impossible to fly.

Fast and nice little buggers, those 250s are mate. I really loved it when I had mine. Go on and enjoy!
(just make sure, the loctite is all where it is ONLY supposed to be! The bits are wayy too small to constantly work on)
