Daft question, I know, but on my DX8 what do the buttons marked Left and Right Trim do? What do they trim?

They are programmable trimmers which can be set to trim either the Gear, Aux1, Aux2 or Aux3 channels. I have the left one set to trim the Gear channel so I can easily set my Gyro gain without having to navigate to the Gyro menu.
I suspect they are a bit more useful to plank flyers than us heli guys.cheers,
