mCPx first flight (sort of)

Hi Folks,
Well i went and bought an mCPx yesterday and after programming the DX6i and charging a battery I thought it was time to try it. I managed a sort of hover and some forward and back flight but didn't realise how fast the little thing was. Luckily I haven't managed to wreck anything yet as I hit throttle hold and it just fell onto the bed! My hands were shaking as this was my first foray into CP (see I'm learning the lingo now) as my previous flights have been with the CX3 and MCX, but at least I have tried and I think Phoenix helped me. Enough of my ranting, I'm just so pleased I didn't wreck it in the first 10 seconds.

But next time, take it outside where there's plenty of space and in some calm conditions. Far less chance of bashing into things that way

As it was p**ing down outside and I am impatient I gave it a go inside, boy does it go!, if I change the expo to 50% will it make it a bit more docile on the sticks (around centre), or should I adjust the pitch?

I also did my first few flights with the mCPx indoors. I was extremely cautious and was happy just to hover and pirouette. It was when I took it outside that it became apparent how lively it is.I used D/R of 80% and 30% expo and was still amazed as it whizzed around terrorizing the bamboo, roses, fir trees etc etc.

I don't think there is anything wrong with learning indoors until you really get the hang of the twitchyness of the mCPx. Making small corrections and keeping it within a 2m cube is a very worthwhile activity.

I hope you enjoy the mCPx as much as I do and that you are happy with the settings that I pre-configured for you ;-)
