  • On the right track?

I currently own a new and yet unflown procopter sport which i purchased friday last week. Tomorrow i will be off to midland helicopters to get hold of the phoenix flight sim for some serious practise before trying to get airborn.

I did some basic hovering and circuits about 12 years ago with a concept 30 DX (upgraded to SX spec) which i still own, it has a quest gyro and is fitted with futaba 3001 servos. I do intend to use this model again once i am more proficient. I took a break from helis and did some plank flying for about 2 years but found it tedious after a while.

Can someone with experience please recommend some good radio gear suitable for a beginner but that will also grow as i do. i have been reading good things about the spektrum dx7 and i think this will be one on my shortlist in the coming weeks. I intend to go the nitro heli route and have my eye on the raptor 30 V2 or perhaps a 50 sized machine.

Any comments or help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Deff go for the dx7 you wont need to change it later,
You would prob be better of getting a 50 from the start rather than upgrade later, There are several 50 size heli`s to choose from

Tranny Dx-7 and it comes with servos.

Out of the Box for a Beginner Raptor Titan is a 50 machine. The Titan is ideal starting out machine as it takes a beating quite well

Spares are easy to come by and any Club with helicopter flyers will probably have a Raptor sat around. Engine O.S Hyper. Gyro go for futaba 401 and 9254 tail servo with it.

Raptors are solid well proven machines and spot on for beginners.
