It appears I have accidently bought myself a second hand Raptor 50 with lots of shiny bits...

    Full metal head
Loads of CF and Aluminium upgrades
Brand new OS 50 Hyper engine
Carbon fibre rotor blades (main and tail)
    Futaba GY401 gyro
    JR 8700G tail servo
    Futaba governor
    JR servos
    JR PCM 10 channel receiver
    Carbon fibre canopy
    New 3700 mAh battery pack
JR PCM 10 SX II Transmitter
    Carrymaster Box
12v Lead Acid Battery + Charger
    Remote Glow Clip/Nicad + Charger
    12V Electrc Starter
    Fuel Container
    12v Electric Fuel Pump
    Recoil Fuel Tubing

Anyone around Bristol fancy meeting up one eve, having a look at it and telling a beginner what the hell he should do next?

Got a sneaking suspicion that the tail servo won't play with your gyro but i'm not 100% sure on that...

You're right phil, i believe that the servo goes full over to one of it's stops when the gyro initialise's and then it will work. But i don't think its a good thing . I believe the issue was fixed with the new JR8900 tail servo.

                Bye the way, Great deal!

just been reading about that setup on bmfaclassifieds looks pretty good, but do yourself a favour and make sure you join a club. Ive been helping a beginner at my club, and last week we got his raptor 30 in the air. this week he decided to start it up on his own, having managed to some how reset his model memory. His throttle servo was reversed, meaning he started it at full chat. he held on to it for dear life, wrecking his clutch, clutch liner, and main gear, and no doubt almost giving himself a heart attack at the same time!

I've had a couple of those 'accidents' recently.
                    Looks good.

                      Nice kit...

It is possible to 'go it alone' - I did... Just start with very small hops, leading to longer hops, until you can hover. Next move very slowly forward, walking around following it. Next stay in one spot and move it about slowly with the tail always facing you. In the meantime keep practicing on the sim. Then the big day will come you can put it into forward flight

                      Cheers - Rob

                          I learned on my own.
Just got someone to watch me once to make sure I wasn't making any obvious mistakes.

I'm only a beginner as well, can hovver perfectly and do basic circuits but no 3d. I'm just starting upside down stuff on the sim but daren't even attempt it with the heli.
