  • Which TX?

I have been reading another post by Muscleflex about radios, and that Had some interesting points about different TXs. I only crash indoor helis like MSR and mCX2 helis because I don't want to fly outside, but I need a new TX. Many on this forum seems to like the DX6i...are there others on the Market that I can use with my Blades? What are the differebces between them?

Main issue I have is money as in not much of it. One thing is, this hobby is expensive if you don't earn much.

Muscleflex thank you for your interesting post I did not think of this before your post. First it was which heli? Now it's which TX? Sigh.

    Thanks all

the dx6i is a great starter radio and it will see you through to your first nitro if you go that way.. if you go beond the 30 size nitro and in to the more exspensive range i.e trex, synergy , avant , outrage then think about getting somthing with 8 or more chanels...

but yes the dx6i is a good radio for the beginer and you can bind to all the park flyer stuff that is spectrum two

As above, dx6i or a dx7 if you can stretch to it (much better radio).

I think 2nd hand DX6i/DX7 is about your best bet on a tight budget. You can also bind it to the mSR etc.

Also worthing thinking about what you might do later down the line, stay with Spektrum or go with another system like JR, Hitec or Futaba.

Having just switched from a DX8 to a Futaba 12FG it was a pain having to swap all the RX's over and then selling them on. Personally i wish i'd gone Futaba of the bat.

                      I went with DX6i I must admit.

The reason I did at the time was I seemed to accrue a lot of little heli's (msr, s300 that type of thing) and wanted something cheap that would be reasonably expandable (I didnt envisualise heli's then) and would bind with the lot. The idea was I could buy BNF which would ultimately be cheaper.

I had an AR500 receiver already which I was using in a plank, so I went with the DX6i as i said. Ive not regretted that for what Ive got (small Blades, TREX copy and a Mini Titan which I love)

But I do hanker for something else so I can 'go large'.

I would dearly love to go for the new Multiplex stuff, but seem to have have fallen into the dsm2 trap
