    hi all,
I have puchased these for my cyclics

Towerpro MG90s 14g 2.2kg Torque Ball Raced Micro Servo

the problem i have is; this the heli 450se manual says use m2x8 button head bolts and plastic servo nuts to attach, but i cant find what im looking for as the only button heads i can find only have a 4mm head and the servo holes are 3mm thats only 0.5 overlap,... also the servos havent got any rubber grommets i have been told they are a must for helis but again i cant find any for a micro servo.. how does everyone attach there servos? oh and its a carbon fibre frame so not keen on self tapers in case i split out the hole,

    any help guys please

Didn't bother with rubber grommets on my SE just washers and these >>

    M2 nylock nut Ref: SL042-M2
    M2 x 12mm Ref: SL043C-R
    Bought from Nuts and Bolts

Where possible I put the bolts in from the inside outwards with the nuts on the outside, then cut off any excess.

I use what comes in the kit first find the right servo horn you going to use and I cut the spares up and ca glue in place then use screws that come in kit.

Rubber grommits are more important on nitro heli's where there is a lot more vibration

          thankyou

I may try the servo horn thing sounds viable if not I'll go for the your suggestion graham but the m2 nuts worked out jut short of £6 for 6? Little bit expensive for what they are?,......also...... The head is pre-assembled but do you suggest I should strip it down and make sure its all thread-locked?.

          Thanks

This is wrong. You can't go modifying Trex kits like this. They chose their method of fixing servos very carefully. If the rest of us can get those pathetic fiddly bits of plastic into impossible places then so should you. Put the original bits back as soon as possible. You know it makes sense.

EDIT...This is obviously a really good idea, or so I thought. My attempt at humour has obviously failed.

if it works without hindering the servo movement / link alignment / throw of the servo horn, then it's not wrong at all.

Uh-oo didn't want to cause any arguements only to find out the best and safest way of attaching the servo's, that said I still don't see how that's modifying if something works as an alternative and is equally as good if not better then the original then that surely is an alternative? A modification is more akin to altering the preformance of the machine I.e carbon fibre lightwieght frame, machine alloy parts etc if we never had alternatives then surely we would neither have clones? As a clone is a cheaper but still just as capable ALTERNATIVE of the famous trex!, there I will now duely step down from my soapbox!!!!.....
