Well that is short and to the point

    Welcome.

It all depends- if you are learning alone and with a sim, get an electric, but even with that you will need to do your research.

Have you done any flying at all. If not, my view would be get a simulator and a transmitter, then perhaps a small Blade MSR- even that will seem tough to start but will get you learning and is useful over the winter as it is an indoors heli really.

If you want to go bigger electric, consider a Trex450 or 500- these are cheap, easy to get parts and easy to repair as you will crash quite a lot. They can still be dangerous, so make sure you go slow and steady and do not try to progress to fast.

A nitro is good if you can join a club- there are lots of things you need to know to set up and fly nitro and the best way to get this is in a club. It's possible on your own, but not ideal unles you are rich.

Just my little point of view- in answer to your question- ELectric to start learning on.

Electric is really quick and easy to fly for short periods, but if you already have a Raptor 50 and help, I would stick with that rather than the cost of converting and buying the batteries and chargers for that size of heli.

If you want electric, get a ready made electric- the Trex 500 is great to learn on.

Hi My opion for what its worth. I have both but find the electric more conveniant if you just want a couple of quick flights say midweek
rather than taking all the stuff needed for nitro

Well for the charger is not a prob already have one because I used to have a 450, is just the cost of the conversion and lipo, and I don't know if worth it?

Well, unless you got a serious overkill charger for your 450 what you will find is that the charging equipment needed for the big Lipos
is in another league. For charging 3 cell 2200mah packs for a 450 a little 50 watt charger is more than capable. To charge a 6s 4500mah
pack at 1C requires 4 times the power.

The 500 size packs are not too bad because you can still use a 50 watt charger if you stay under 2 amps so you're charging
at only a bit under 1C. Plus the cost of the Lipos goes up dramatically with the bigger packs.

If it's the Graupner Ultra Duo plus 40 then yeah it should be fine (with a power supply of around 200 / 250 watts).

Personally I would save the money and get a new electric that does not need more than a single 6s battery to power it- that is the best combination of fun, power and battery economy, unless you want to go big electric which can be really expensive at the start

Im self tought and started off with a blade 400, then wen i got better moved on to a trex 450 pro, then bought a trex 600le which is nice, but i think i would prefure electric rather than nitro especially if ur a beginner as its just more praticle!

Wowzers.... getting a Goblin in the air will be no cheap affair!

If you are going to buy a new electric kit, you really need to decide on a size/budget because the up-front costs of getting a large (600+) electric in the air can be very expensive.

As said before, 500 size is great. How about a Protos 500 if you are patriotic!

I have to disagree about the comments about charging 6's. I bought lot's of cheapo 6's and use 2 x Imax B6's to charge them at 2 amps. OK, it does take time. But with 12 Lipos it is not a problem. I now fly nothing but Electric even though I still have a Raptor 30. Sell the dirty, filthy, smelly, sticky Raptor and buy a TREX.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?
