ive re arranged some wiring on my 450 and came across what i now know as a ferrite ring magnet for interference etc, well i had to cut it off and am now wondering if i actually need it, im running 2.4 ghz anyone got any ideas?
In theroy you shouldnt... but... if it were me on all elecrics i would have the ferrite and add two more connections from the battery -ve to the frame ( motor mount) and to the tail boom particullary if the boom mount is plastic.... that removes the uncertantity
The Tx/Rx connection is 2.4GHz, the rest of the electronics and associated connections are not. The ferrite ring is there to help reduce any RF noise generated from the power system to the rest of the flight control electronics. Saying that many peeps run without them and no problems, but if you find the electronics glitching, them it's advised to stick one back on.
