anybody can be an Arsehole, it takes real commitment, dedication and a whole lot of effort to be nice.
S'funny you should mention the Hurricane cos thats exactly what I was looking at this afternoon.
There is one in the model shop all built and ready to go, I spoke to the fella that built it today as he happened to be in the shop buying some bits, he said he built it but decided to part with it before flying it as he is emigrating and has too much stuff to take. Said he paid £450 for the kit then added an engine, so I'm guessing £550-ish all in.
Model shop said they wanted £400 for it, just needs servo's and a gyro, so I reckon another £200 should see me with a 401 etc.
It does look very blingy but also looks very solid, apparently its a great machine to fly too.
I have faith in my model shop, the guy could have screwed me a few times over as I've trusted him to sell me what he advised, each time I've checked prices and opinions and each time it appears I've had a great deal - plus I've been back many times and they've spent hours getting it set up, adding parts I've bought and repairing crash damage all free of charge...plus as much tea as I can drink.
Went in today looking to buy a plane, he knows I've got a few bob in the bank and could have fleeced me again but advised me to sit tight because he's got some coming in that are great for a beginner and cheaper than the stuff he's currently got in.
In his own words if you keep people happy and look after them they'll keep coming back...
The Hurricane is just a Chinese copy of the JR Airskipper 50. All the parts are identical.. the only difference is the majority of the JR parts come out of Japanese factories at a decent quality level... the same can not be said for the Hurricane. Yes there is a lot of "bling" (God I hate that word..!) for the money.. but remember you always get what you pay for..
If you wanted a machine now I would go for the Scedeau.. but then I would always choose quality over price.. I like to buy something once rather than 2 or 3 times just to get something right. However the Vibe 50 is just around the corner.. and I think that is going to be something special.
