  • Setting up my ESC to my DX6i

    Help!!!! i just had to replace my ESC on my Storm 3d twister, i purchased the one that comes as standard from manufacture from midland helicopters, the problem i have now is when starting her up i only need to be 1/4 throtle and she nearly at full power on my dx6i, do i need to program it and if so now.....pls can you adivise me,

    erm ok. what are the throttel curve settings in the dx6

          Hold should definately not be at 2%, should be 0% or -2%.

          Your curve looks wrong to me, it should rise rapidly from L to 1 then be a slight climb to H.

          Use the ones in my last post and you wont go wrong, also check that you're getting full pitch (with the motor disconnected) from something like -10 deg to +10 deg.

          With CP's you use the pitch curve to control the collective the throttle should change very little once the heli is spooled up, the slight increase in throttle from 70 to 80 is to counter the increasing blade pitch and keep the headspeed constant.

            Noticed you have two posts going:

            As the Twister is a CP heli, I would suggest the following.

            Normal

            Pitch 40 45 50 75 100
            Throttle 0 70 70 75 80

            Idle-up

            Pitch 0 25 50 75 100
            Thottle 80 75 70 75 80

            You should have high headspeed above 1/4 stick.
