  • Newbie questin about spektrum

Hi all - just need to clarify something..
If i bought a hitec aurora 9, that wont be compatible with any BnF models, will it?
this means i'll have to buy rx for every plane/helis i get?
is dsmx just compatible with spektrum? (JR too maybe?)

sorry - i cant edit my post title with the missing o!

    That's correct.

I have the aurora 9 and love it. The cost of the receivers are cheap. Tbh most bind and fly stuff is small electric so not really an issue for me. Go Hitec and avoid bind issues as well as gimbal, range and the other associated spektrum problems!!

Correct, you will need a Spektrum transmitter for all the e-flite BnF stuff. Good news is the receivers for your Hitec are quite well priced. If you want to fly the BnF stuff, I guess a cheap DX6i would do the job (or a cheap DX8.......plenty of them about !!)
      Cheers,

Or get a DX7 and have best of both worlds.

Ah Jamie, yee of little faith. My DX7 is awesome, never so much as a hiccup PLUS I get to fly my MCPx with it. All good. The Hitec sure looks nice though but those big screens are a gimmick imho.

Big screens are ace, love my Aurora, so much easier to program than the DX6/7/8 & touch screen to boot.

Never had issue with binding, can change the stick tension within seconds & have recently updated firmware & the new features are great.

Luckily my son has the DX7 so i get to use (Steal) that for my mCPx

Not in my opinion, just you wait for a few more years when you need reading specs but keep forgetting them with senior moments. Adjusting the Pitch Curve goes all over the place, like a donkeys hind leg.
A 42" Plasma on my tranny would be about right.
