Has anybody ever made or heard of anybody making the following at home
    1. Pitch gauges (flybar and main rotors)
    2. Swashplate levelling tool

if so has anyone got or know anywhere i can find the plans to make one of these because i dont wanna spend all the money on them if they can be made for next to nothing ( i do have acess to machines for precision metal work).

Or if someone wants to sell me some secondhand i may be interested - gimme a pm

A friend of mine copied my pitch gauge,
made his out of hard balsa, works great.
Did the same with the paddle gauge set too

    I would think making---
    Flybars
    Main shafts
    Feathering spindles

would be easy with a small lathe and tap and dies
Planes are for people who can\'t fly Helis

I have access to a lathe, a friend of mine has 2, one small modelers one and a huge floor standing job. I tend to only ever use them for things like trueing up clutch bells and linings and for milling out the robbe 3d pipe clamp brackets to fit on the booms of my raptor 70 and 90.

I have often thought of getting one myself though, as Im sure I could come up with a load more jobs I could use it for.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

Make yourself a motor if you get that clever Pete',but when I was using them all day, the last thing I wanted was one at home.Must admit at times they do come in very useful for making that odd part.Go on Pete', forget about housework for awhile and buy yourself a centre lathe, for I have a few jobs lined up for you.JUST JOKING.or am I.
(If you buy one make it a Harrison)

        GOOD FLYING.

          Hi Mo,

Well I have looked around at the various makes and models etc. one of the best ones Ive found so far is the Proxxon PD230/E with the FF230 virtical milling attachment.

          Have a look at www.proxxon.com

Have you come across this one?

You never know, I may just make a engine one day

          Cheers,

          Pete.

Not at the moment Stuart but once Ive got this damn house beaten into submission and built myself a proper permanant workshop that is the intention

The trouble is I need a workshop to rebuild the house so I can build a workshop

              Cheers,

              Pete.
