  • Should I buy Align 450 SEv2, Sport, or Pro?

    Hi
I'm a novice, but looking to buy a new Align 450.
I want something to grow with me.
Should I buy Align 450 SEv2, Sport, or Pro??

Where is the best place to buy?
I would be looking to buy it complete, and ready to fly (I already have TX & Lipo charger)

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

Not much help but i personaly prefere the SEv2 purely because i think it looks 100x better than either the sport or the pro & no one will tell you to get it on here. I think any 3 would see you through from beginer to pro IMO. My only concern with the v2 right now would be parts as i've been noticing a decline of certain spares on the older Trex 450's
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

trex 450 sport in my opinion. alot will say the pro, but for ease of use, and not bumping tail gears for me its the sport. Unless you are a top 3d pro you won't notice the difference between the two, and the v2 is older and the less stable of the 3.

I haven't noticed any scarcity of spares, certainly all the common things that either wear out or get damaged in a crash.
In my experience it seems like SE V2 spares are everywhere (keeping in mind all the clones use the same bits).

Last time i looked on fastlad lots of stuff were not there anymore? I can't remember what but it made me think they were phasing them out. I have noticed the same thing with Gaui 200 spares, i'm unfortunatley now going to have to look elsewhere

Lately I have been using Align-Trex .co.uk for 450 spares but there's always the vast array of Ebay sellers in the far East. I have
yet to have any difficulty getting stuff. I think SEV2 spares will be around for quite some time even if Align phase it out
because so many clones and other branded helis use the same parts.

I do like FL's 'parts finder' function though.

Regarding the SEV2, when trying to source a few spare items the guy at FastLads told me that Align no longer produce spares for these. So if it ain't in stock, it wont be replaced. Worth consideration if you've got a thin wallet.
              Trex 450 SEV2.
Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !
              Trex 550 V2. Adrenalin ( brown kind )
mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.

Weeeeeell, what I have been trying to say is.... there will be spares for the V2 from other manufacturers for years even if Align do stop
                making them :-)

Thanks to all for the replies.

I'm kind of leaning towards the 450 Sport. However, I have read some bad things about the servos etc that come with the combo kit.

Can anyone confirm any experiences with the combo kit? Are there any probs with the servos, gyro etc etc?

Anyone got a good 450 Sport up for sale? or anyone know anywhere good to get one cheap?

                  Thanks

Accepted Trillian, but as cloned items how does their quality stand up to Align items ? I've heard everything from, " Wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole." -to- " Not brilliant but do the job " Never used them so have no opinion meself. Has anyone used them and how do they rate the cloned items, perhaps should be a new thread ?
                    Cheers KG.

I have an sev2 that i crash regularly. The flasher 450 parts are a direct fit and of good quality.

I have never had a problem with any non Align branded 450 spares so far. I have used Flasher, Tarot, HK and others that
I don't remember the names of. But until I hear from a reliable source otherwise I'd be willing to bet Align will continue
to sell parts as long as there is demand for them.

both midlands and skyline told myself v2 parts are no longer made by align and once gone you will need to convert to the sport parts .

Well, I am trying to get this clarified by someone I know that deals with Align. But the bottom line is this; You will be
able to get any part you want to fit a 450SE V2 for years to come, even if it is not under the Align brand. There
is a massive and constant supply of parts being made that are compatible with the Align stuff, it is NOT a problem
                            in any shape or form.
