swash mix dx6i

can anyone let me know what the swash mix percentages should be as a begginner with a trex 450 and a 500 using a dx6i, cheers

Theres no real figures,50% on the elevator and aileron would be a good start and the pitch is set to how much pitch you want,60% would give you around 10 or 11 degrees.This is a rough figure and with all DR at 100%.

You'd find it very difficult with full rates and no expo. I use 70% rates and 20% expo with a swash mix of 60% on a 450 clone which is a SE2 copy. Boggy posted some useful advice in the blade400 section. Most of it applies except that the Blade400 and Twister Storm need a higher mix figure on one of the cyclic servos. Extra weights on the flybar was one suggestion. It's also very important how the throttle and pitch curves are setup, as you really want lots of control at hovering height.

ok well mines on aile -100% elev -100% and pitch +70% so im assuming thats not good then??

yes they are elev + 20% and rudd 15% aile is on INH ?

When i first had a CP heli i used +25% expo on all.I also left all dual rates at 100% and just used the swash mix for tuning.

Best bet is to do the above and tame it with the swash mix.As you progress and confidence builds you can slowly add some to the mix but with 100% DR's you wont want to go above 60-65% as you will get binding.

You have to test the swash first, ie use plus to start with and if the swash is moving in the wrong direction change it to a minus

If you have flown it then you dont need to change anything other than the value.

You won't get binding with 100% rates as a beginner. Brown trousers possibly, but not binding.
